The information provided is exclusively for consumers’ personal, non-commercial use, and may not be used for any purpose other than to identify prospective properties consumers may be interested in purchasing. Information is deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Lot sizes are approximate. Price per square foot uses asking price divided by reported lot area; square feet may be calculated from acres. Confirm dimensions and usable area with a survey.
Search scope: active land listings with a Houston, TX MLS address. A Houston mailing address does not establish city limits. Homes, farms, pending listings and surrounding cities are excluded.

BEFORE YOU BUY
Buying land in Houston starts with the site and the plans you have for it. Compare more than the asking price.
An infill site, a custom-home lot and a larger parcel each call for a different search. Think about the footprint you need, street access and the surroundings. Use the acreage and ZIP filters to narrow your shortlist.
Check the recorded plat, survey, title documents and deed restrictions. Confirm the jurisdiction and ask about setbacks, access and any required platting or permits for your intended project.
Houston development resources ↗Review floodplain information, drainage, easements and the location of utility connections. Lot area alone does not tell you how much of a site is usable. Confirm site conditions before settling on a plan.
Explore floodplain maps ↗Ask for estimates for survey work, site preparation, utility connections and any required design or permitting work. Match the purchase timeline to your due diligence and financing needs.

GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEARER NEXT STEPS.
Start here, then look closely at the parcel you have in mind.
This search includes active MLS land and lot listings with a Houston, Texas address. Look for individual lots, infill sites and larger parcels. Homes on large lots and properties classified as farms are separate MLS categories and are not included here.
Not necessarily. A mailing address is a search location, not a jurisdiction boundary. Confirm the parcel’s municipality or unincorporated status before applying development rules. This search uses the MLS city field and does not include every parcel in the Greater Houston area.
The City of Houston does not have conventional zoning, but development remains subject to applicable ordinances and private restrictions. Review the recorded plat, deed restrictions, setbacks and other requirements for the specific parcel. Nearby municipalities have their own rules.
Start with the asking price, location and usable area. Where lot area is reported, each card shows the asking price per square foot of land. That calculation is not an appraisal or a sold comparable. Shape, access, utilities, existing improvements and development requirements can change the practical cost of a site.
A land listing alone does not establish that a project is permitted. Have the proposed use and layout checked against the survey, title documents, recorded restrictions and the relevant planning and permitting requirements before relying on a subdivision or building plan.
Use the Harris County Flood Education Mapping Tool and FEMA Flood Map Service Center as starting points. Then review parcel-specific survey and drainage information with qualified professionals. A map designation alone does not describe every drainage issue or guarantee that a property will never flood.
Availability varies by parcel. A listing may describe nearby or available services without confirming installed connections or capacity for your project. Confirm service, connection locations, capacity and estimated connection costs with the providers before budgeting.
The page requests active listings from the connected HAR feed when you load a results page or change filters. The retrieval time appears above the listings. Availability and prices can change; confirm the current status of any lot you want to pursue.
